Story of the Week

Yesterday went down to go see Weezer. Cake and story of the year were also there.  I know its gonna sound stupid, but I've seen story of the year 4 times already, though not by choice.  They opened for GreenDay, LInkin Park, Weezer and played b4 STrokes at Music Midtown.  I'll get to an interesting story on story of the year in a few.  But this was the set list for weezer in random order.

Say It Ain't So
Photograph
El Scorcho
Undone
No One Else
In the Garage
Getchoo
Island in the Sun
Fall Together
Hash Pipe
Buddy Holly
Pardon Me
Perfect Situation
Hold Me
We're All on Drugs
Haunt You Everyday
Beverly Hills
Peace

Haunt You Everyday, Say it Ain't So and Peace were probably the best songs that i thought they played.  Too many good songs that I really wanted to hear but i guess a 20 song set list (i think i'm missing 2 songs) and an hour and half of performing non-stop was good enough.  Going back to the Story of the Year comment, Story of the Year was hella hyping up Weezer and giving props to them.  So when weezer came on out half way through the set, Rivers stated, "Lets hear it for Story of the Year", and the the crowd erupts.  Greg, coworker I was with, is gettin pretty drunk at this time.  We're pretty close to the front.  And he somehow manages to time a hecklin comment at the one moment in time, when there was absolute silence - in between the crowd quieting down and before WEezer performs their next song.  He yells, "MORE LIKE STORY OF THE WEEK" and i swear -- everyone including Rivers was looking straight at us.  I think backstage, that Story of the YEar guy is probably crying after that one.  But i think its funny in retrospect, but kinda frigthening back there, cause everyone there was a hard core linkin park - teenage angst melo-dramatic goth.

Star Wars Episode - Revenge of the Sith Rant (includes spoilers)

So Darth Vader was Luke's dad, i never saw that coming.  Darth vader is one wicked freak. If i were Darth Vader i'd grow a long ass beard so i could head bang to all that kick ass indie rock music.

Speaking of Darth Vader, whats up with D-Lee.  He won't go out and meet chicks.  I guess his computer gf has got the force choke hold applied good on him.  Sorry bro, but "bros b4 HO's" or in your case, "bros b4 c3POz"

Last two weeks, I have been off of Atkins, trying to regain energy that I've felt I've lost over the course of doing Atkins.  Refusing to weigh myself, since I assumed I gained lots of weight from the continuous carb up (I go through a box of chocolate lucky charms every two days with skim milk; quit eating eggs/ chicken whoppers w/out bun).

Diet from Saturday March 26th, 2005
------------------------------------------

9 AM Breakfast -> 2 bowls of Chocolate Lucky Charms

11 AM -> 1/2 a packet of myoplex deluxe

Drum Practice

1 PM -> 1.5 loaves of bread from Macaroni Grill Basically drenched in Olive Oil
        1 Caeser Salad
        1/2 Penne Rustica

3 PM -> 1/2 Penne Rustica
.5 loaves of bread from Macaroni Grill

5 PM -> 2 Bowls of Chocolate Lucky Charms

7 PM -> 1 Bowl of Chocolate Lucky Charms; 1/2 Can of Fat Free Refried Beans with 2 Chicken Patties

9 PM -> 2 Bowls of Chocolate Lucky Charms

11 PM -> 1/2 a tin of Honey Roasted Peanuts and a Coke

Workout -> None
------------------------------------------

The rest of my diet has been on par or consistent to that diet described on March 26th, instead of Macaroni Grill you can usually substitute a quarter pounder combo with cheese large sized with a coke; or 4 crunchy tacos with that apple enchilda thing from taco bell{taco bell and mcdonalds are 5 mintues from my house} or some frozen pizza {which I always grease the bottom with canola w/red peppers to give it a spicy cruncy deep dish feel, also add gouda cheese and more cheese}.  The carbs have definitely given me extra power in some of my lifts.  While my lower body is pretty much in pain, this is what I lifted last wednesday.  I do pullups everyday, regardless of soreness.

Pullups/Dips Super Sets
-----------------------
1st Set
25 pullups/ 30 dips

2 minute rest

2nd Set
15 pullups/ 10 dips

2 minute rest

3rd Set
10 pullups/ 10 dips

Coming off the 4 day break of no lifting, I peformed 15 pullups, 10, 10 for the other 2 sets.  Dips are consistent with previous results.  When I weighed myself yesterday, I thought my scale was broken.  It said 154 lbs.  After eating large sized fries, drinking coke, eating chipotle, this made absolutely no sense.  Maybe I've lost muscle or something.  But today at the gym, I weighed in close to 151 on the sliding scale so my scale at home is close to accurate.  My stomache looks a lot bigger in the mirror as well.

I will attempt again to go back on atkins this week.  My will power was no good yesterday, I lasted until 4 / 5 pm {ate 2 egg omelette, 5 string cheese things, 2 chicken patties w/mayo}; before caving in and going to Krogers to pick up the last boxes of chocolate lucky charms they had {4 boxes, best d*mn cereal on the planet}, also got more beans, potatoes, and honey roasted peanut tins.

Weekend Results
---------------

Body weight went from 149 pounds on friday with 12 % bodyfat reading to 161 pounds on monday morning. The carb loading was intense.  In the span of two days, 3 myoplex packets, 200 grams of isopure, 1 large box of lucky charms (the one that comes with that shark tales videogame), 2 pot roasts, 1 can of refried beans, 1 chipotle burritoe, 4 tins of honey roasted peanuts, 1/2 large box of frosted flakes (the one that comes with sponge bob square pants watch), 1 gallon of milk, a few bottles of powerade and sweetened coffees were consumed.  I will start taking pictures of the bathroom scale from now on.  Because I dont' even believe the fluctuations in weight loss and gains that I'm goin through each week.  I'll take a picture of the scale this friday prior to carb up.  Then another on sunday night after i've eaten the last of my carbs.

I'm hoping that my bodyfat is roughly around 13 to 14 % and not that much higher.  But my gut looks swollen.  Back to chicken whoppers w/out the buns, isopure and egg beater omelettes with metamucil.  Weight training on bench has been depressing.  Everytime i hit the bench, it drops another 4-5 reps.  I gained slightly today on bench compared to my last few workouts.  I'll guinea pig again this week on opus, if my bodyweight is below the 160s and my lifts are slightly higher I'll stick to 5 day induction and 2 day carb plan.  However anything else and I'm doing long term induction with friday carb up only.  Here are the results of today's lifts.

Bench Press
-----------
135 - 10
155 - 8
175 - 7

4.5 miles on the treadmill

plank situps and leg raises

12 pullups
20 dips
10 pullups
10 dips
5 pullups
10 dips
3 pullups
10 dips

No rest on pullups and dips, all supersetted.

With the two day carb up in effect, I've noticed a lot of things that are different.  I felt myself becoming full and swollen by Sunday.  On my previous carbups I never felt this bloated.  Had to take a ripped fuel pill and force myself to eat a chicken whopper after lifting, because my appetite is diminished.  Hopefully I'll hit ketosis by tuesday night if i lift hard enough.
